Guelph Parks
New and revitalized city parks designed through community engagement and accessibility improvements.
City of Guelph Parks
Guelph, Ontario
Our team has collaborated with city park planners and the local community to develop and enhance twenty-five parks and facilities.
Our Landscape Architects have worked in coordination with the city to design and carry through to completion many different types of facilities including tennis and basketball courts, off-leash dog parks, local trails and the city-wide active transportation network, a one of a kind bike skills facility with pump tracks, jump lines and skills trails, as well as safety surface and playground equipment revitalization in compliance with Standards Council of Canada CSA Z614:20.
As with all of our projects, creating spaces that are universally accessible is of paramount importance. Incorporating crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED) principals, enhancing accessibility in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Design for Public Spaces Standard, as well as the City of Guelph Facility Accessibility Design Manual (FADM), and preserving existing natural heritage features are all critical factors in the design process.
