Specializing in the interactions between insects and trees and urban forestry, James draws from a broad range of academic and practical experience in arboriculture, ecology and field biology. Jamesí aptitude to bridge the gap between the theory and practice of urban forestry is demonstrated by his ability to perform tree data collection and assessments, value appraisals, mitigation and preservation plans, and to interpret the data in a concise manner as a liaison with community groups, government agencies, owners and contractors. James is the lead author of Integrated Pest Management: A Framework for Pest Management in Nursery Crop Production Manual and is a former instructor at Mohawk College.

Partner . Landscape Architecture Lead

Marc is a Landscape Architect with twenty years of construction and consulting experience in the public and private sectors and is an Adjunct Faculty in the School of Environmental Design and Rural Development, at the University of Guelph. From day cares to retirement communities, wetlands to green roofs, and walking trails to arterial road streetscapes he creates inspired landscapes that blend traditional and ecological design principles, supported by a practical knowledge of landscape construction methods. Marc manages all aspects of design, approvals, contract administration and post-occupancy stewardship for landscape architecture and ecological restoration based projects at Aboud & Associates. .

Denise brings over 20 years of administration, business management and accounting experience in retail, consulting, and federal government agencies. Denise is responsible for office management, accounts management, administration records, government programs, preparing proposals, and researching policy and background project information. Cheryl-Anne Ross Fish and Wildlife Technologist Dip., B.Sc.
Ecology Lead

Cheryl-Anne Ross has a comprehensive understanding of the natural environment and the tools that are used to evaluate it. Cheryl-Anne completed her Undergraduate degree in NREM-Wildlife and Fisheries Biology at the University of Northern British Columbia, has a Technical Diploma in Fish and Wildlife Technology from Sir Sandford Fleming College and a decade of experience in the public and private sectors. In addition to working as a Natural Heritage Educator at provincial parks, her professional experience includes working on residential and industrial development and renewable energy projects throughout Ontario. Cheryl-Anne conducts a broad range of natural heritage inventory and assessments including botanical inventories, ELC, species at risk reports, environmental assessments, environmental impact statements, and monitoring for wildlife (avian, herptiles and mammals) and wildlife habitat.

Erin has a strong understanding of both the creative and technical elements of planning and design in Landscape Architecture. Erinís professional expertise is defined by her ability to comprehend the complex relationship between people and the environment at varying scales and contexts. This is demonstrated in her experience in the creation of guideline/policy development, ecological restoration plans, recreation planning, urban design, and extensive assessment and restoration of cultural heritage landscapes.

Nicole has a solid sense of design accompanied by her skills and knowledge gained from working in both the planning and horticultural fields. Nicoleís professional expertise is rooted in understanding of people and how they interact with their environment. Incorporating her landscape design background with her knowledge of arboriculture allows her to create aesthetically pleasing and environmentally sustainable designs. She is currently pursuing full accreditation in the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects through the Professional Development Program..

Ecologist

Shannon has detailed knowledge of environmental concepts and the natural evolution of ecological landscapes. Shannon completed a Bachelor of Environmental Studies in Geography and Environmental Management from the University of Waterloo, as well as a post-graduate certificate in Ecosystem Restoration from Niagara College. She has had the opportunity to work with a number of environmental organizations, where her strong field skills have been applied to many projects including ecological land classifications, wetland evaluations, botanical and species at risk inventories as well as invasive species removal throughout south-western Ontario.

Kristen has a strong background in forestry and conservation. She is a graduate of the University of Toronto in the Master's of Forest Conservation program, holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in Ecosystem Restoration from Niagara College and an undergraduate degree in Honours Biology from McMaster University. Kristen is passionate about all aspects of forestry, with particular interest in trees and the urban landscape. Shannonís design sensibilities are informed by engaging the dynamic relationship between urban and natural environments. She holds a degree in Environmental Studies with emphasis in Ecological Restoration & Rehabilitation from the University of Waterloo, a Masters in Landscape Architecture from the University of British Columbia and has experience with non-profit school ground and public space work as a design associate with Evergreen. Experienced in facilitating community and school ground design charrettes and workshops, Shannon develops cohesive visions and comprehensive long-term solutions with individuals, reviewing agencies and community members using principles of sustainable urban design, ecological restoration, bioregionalism and urban agriculture.
